If I wasn't so lazy and wanted to drive an hour each way, I'd get the Barbacoa tacos once a week. The owner and their family were great to our group of 17! Got us in after previous plans fell through, let us order whatever we wanted and got us out within an hour. Highly recommend

This family run restaurant serves delicious Mexican and American dishes made from scratch. The cook staff and servers are all family and make you feel like you are family too! Tamales are huge and can be preordered for holidays as well. They even made sure they were gluten free for my nieces.

We have used Vaquero’s for a many years for catering needs! This weekend they catered our son’s graduation party with his friends. Hands down it was amazing!! We didn’t have to worry about everything. The food was amazing as always, and the service was wonderful! If you’re looking for some great Mexican food or needing a catering event, Vaquero’s is your go to. Angel and Olivia are wonderful people and have an amazing staff! Thank y’all so much for always taking such wonderful care of us!!

Homemade, delicious food, good customer service, clean and well-lit with soft music, and friendly service! I love supporting family-owned businesses, and this is our favorite. The owners of Vaqueros are pillars in the Hondo community and certainly loved by many for good reason; for they give their all for the people of the community and for those just passing through. Check them out for yourself!

Fries are not crispy. I asked for extra crispy and since heated with cheese and meat it made them soggy. Also no lettuce or grilled onions given as requested. However the beef fajita was delicious, the queso dip and seasoned chips were amazing.

Olivia & Angel are great owners! Great prices and great food! Best Philly cheesesteak in town! Thank you you two for the experience. First time in Hondo and it was great experience!

Classic "hole in the wall" type establishment serving authentic Tex-Mex cuisine. The carne guisada is some of the best I have eaten and the homemade flour tortillas remind me of Mama Rebecca's from my childhood.
